I ordered this book because I've become interested in the process of sculpting with concrete. There is so little information out there! I read this two times, from cover to cover, in one sitting. I currently sculpt with metal, so this book just helped everything fall into place. By watching a project unfold, I was given insight into timing projects, possible disasters, and the vast potential of this medium. This was money well spent, and I can't wait to get into the studio and start playing.

excellent book, takes you step by step (with plenty of pictures) all the way through one project, from conception through final finishes. explains all tools, materials and processes. got one for myself and another for a gift.

The text was interesting, although a bit more complicated than I had hoped. Great looks and unique methods.

Basically, it tells you how the chair was made on the cover. It has some good points, but limited.

I bought this book for my Dad to look through for ideas, instead the book only focused on making the (albeit awesome) table on the cover. There are 2 pages of other ideas in the back of the book, some of which were incredible, but it assumed you would know how to make them just by looking at the table's instructions.

American Style profiles collections of American craft arts unlike any other magazine. Readers see the presentation of art in the beautiful homes of the collectors, as well as the studios of internationally recognized artists, In addition, AS gives readers great information on regional galleries and artists and even offers up tours of craft meccas so you can combine your love of travel with your craft collecting obsession.

A bright colorful design, beautiful large color pictures and a friendly but informative editorial style will make AS one of your favorite magazines--even if you don't collect!

I love everything handmade so when I learned about AmericanStyle magazine a few years ago, I had to get a subscription. I love the collectors profiles--the images are gorgeous and really inspirational for what I could do with my own living space.

I also like the datebook section. It helps me keep up with events that are in my neighborhood or all the way across North America for my next vacation.

This magazine has certainly helped educate me on how to collect fine craft. Some of the articles let you feel like you are personally meeting the artist. The portfolios and spotlight articles are great ways to find new art and to learn about the lives of my favorite (and new!) artists.

It certainly feels good to buy anything American made, but starting an art collection takes the cake! AmericanStyle certainly keeps me informed about the best and the brightest working American craft artists.

I have been a loyal subscriber to AmericanStyle for more than four years. It's an invaluable resource for anyone interested in investing in work that is handmade by artists from the U.S. and Canada. From show listings to profiles of collectors, this magazine is perfect for anyone who wants to start (or dream about) a collection of functional art.

Covering the full spectrum of handwrought crafts, American Style is also a quality venue for advertising. The New Orleans gallery that features our work has successfully promoted her gallery and our Fleur de Lys jewelry via American Style.
